Tech falls to North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The Virginia Tech women's tennis team fell 4-0 to No. 1 North Carolina at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Hokies dropped the doubles point against the Tar Heels, who fielded the No. 4 and No. 19 doubles duos respectively. 
 
North Carolina's power continued to singles where they fielded five ranked players.
 
Tech fell behind 2-0 when freshman Erika Cheng gave up a match to freshman Anika Yarlagadda on court five. Senior Natalie Novotna challenged No. 5 Alexa Graham on court one, but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-3. The match was wrapped up when junior Nika Kozar fell to No. 6 Sara Daavettila, 6-1, 6-3 on court two.  
 
The Hokies will return to action on Friday, March 6, to host NC State at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
