BLACKSBURG – Following Thursday night's loss to seventh-ranked NC State, the Virginia Tech women's basketball team is back on the court on Sunday afternoon when they take on the North Carolina Tar Heels.

In Thursday's contest, Tech shot just 30% from the floor and connected on five 3-pointers in the loss. A bright spot was the play of Taja Cole who led all scorers with 19 points in the game. She also collected five rebounds and had two assists.
 
Last time against the Heels in January, Tech earned its first ACC victory of the season with a 76-70 triumph on Carilion Clinic Court. Four Hokies were in double figures scoring that evening with Aisha Sheppard and Trinity Baptiste each scoring 16.
 
THE TAR HEELS
One of the league's best offenses, Carolina averaged 75 points per game behind a starting five who all average in double figures. In the post, forward Janelle Bailey can go for a double-double any night and she has collected 11 so far this season, leading the team in rebounds at 10.1 per contest.
 
Carolina 16-7 (7-5) is coming off a 71-61 road loss to rival Duke this past Thursday. Shayla Bennett scored 19 points but the team shot just 27% from the field.

•The Hokies are back at Cassell Coliseum on Thursday February 13 to play host to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Tipoff on ACC Network Extra is set for 7 p.m.
