BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech lacrosse program will take its 4-1 record on the road for two contests this week, beginning with a clash at Cincinnati on Wednesday, February 26 and then the first ACC game of the season at the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday, February 29.

The Hokies are led in scoring by Kayla Frank, a freshman midfielder who has registered 30 points though her first five collegiate games. Last week against Radford, the Moorestown, N.J. native posted eight assists, a new single game program record, part of her 11-point day.

Paige Petty is once again leading the squad in goals with 21 on the season and leads the Hokies with 22 draw controls on the circle.

In a 14-7 victory at Elon, senior defender Mary Clare McCarthy recorded her first career point, a goal from a free position opportunity late in the second half. That capped a solid week for McCarthy who also caused a career-best five turnovers against the Phoenix and was a part of the defensive unit that only allowed two goals versus Radford.
