TUESDAY – Final Round
 
The final round of the Dorado Beach Collegiate has been canceled due to heavy rains. The scheduled 54-hole tournament has been declared final after just 18 holes of competition, with the Hokies finishing fourth overall. Connor Burgess, a junior from Lynchburg, Virginia, tied for fifth individually and Bradley de Beer, a sophomore from Western Cape, South Africa, tied for 10th individually.
 
The Hokies will return to action March 13-15, as they travel to Statesboro, Georgia, to compete in the Schenkel Invitational, hosted by Georgia Southern.


MONDAY - Round Two

Monday play at the Dorado Beach Collegiate was canceled due to heavy rain. The event has been shortened to 36 holes. The final round is scheduled for tomorrow morning with an 8 a.m. AT (7 a.m. ET) shotgun start.


SUNDAY - Round One

The Virginia Tech men's golf team posted an opening round 8-under 280 and is in fourth place at the Dorado Beach Collegiate. The three-day tournament is being played at the par 72, 7,112- yard TPC Dorado Beach in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
 
Connor Burgess, a junior from Lynchburg, Virginia, led the Hokies with a 4-under 68 on Sunday. He had seven birdies in the first round. Burgess is three strokes behind co-leaders John Murphy of Louisville and Ben Sigel of Kansas.
 
Bradley de Beer, a sophomore from Western Cape, South Africa, is tied for 10thwith a 3-under 69 and Mark Lawrence Jr., a redshirt senior from Richmond, Virginia, is tied for 15that 2-under 70. Cameron Moore, a sophomore from Richmond, Virginia, is tied for 48that 73 and Slade Pickering, a junior from North West, South Africa, is tied for 58that 74. Both Lawrence and de Beer had birdies in Sunday's first round, Lawrence on the par 5 sixth hole and de Beer on the par 5 14thhole.
 
Louisville holds the team lead at 19-under 269, seven strokes ahead of Kansas. Host UNC Greensboro is third, one stroke ahead of the Hokies and four strokes ahead of Rutgers. VCU, Kansas State, Army West Points and Michigan State round out the top 10.
 
The second round will be played Monday morning with an 8:30 a.m. AT (7:30 a.m. ET) shot gun start. The Hokies will be grouped with Louisville, Kansas and UNC Greensboro on holes 1-4.
