Hokies add Will Marshall to men’s soccer staff

BLACKSBURG – Following a second consecutive Sweet Sixteen appearance, Virginia Tech men's soccer head coach Mike Brizendine announced the addition of Will Marshall to his staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

"Will is a welcome addition to the staff," Head coach Mike Brizendine said. "I know that with his knowledge and experience the level of play at the goalkeeper position will only continue to improve. It's awesome to have him with us."

Marshall, a North Versailles, Pennsylvania native, spent four years with the Pitt Panthers before transferring to West Chester University.

In his only year with the program, Marshall led the Golden Rams to the 2018 NCAA Division II College Cup Final Four as he set program records with wins by a keeper (15) and shutouts in a season (9), finishing his career with a 0.68 goals against average and a .8.21 save percentage.

During his time at Pitt Marshall also spent four years as a coach and instructor with the Riverhounds Developing Academy. Following his collegiate career Marshall was named the assistant director of goalkeeping for the Riverhounds in 2019. Marshall was responsible for managing the training curriculum and session for all keepers.

Marshall is stepping in for Blake Mullen who served as last year's volunteer goal keepers' coach.
