Hokies with two wins on Saturday

BLACKSBURG— The Virginia Tech men's tennis team convincingly handled St. Bonaventure in this afternoon's contest, 5-0.
 
The Hokies controlled the match from the start, beginning with earning the doubles point. Redshirt-senior Mitch Harper and freshman Matthis Ross rolled to a 6-0 victory on court one, followed by junior Ryan Kros and senior Alex Ribeiro finding success on court two, 6-2.
 
Kros never looked back in singles, downing Filip Morawski 6-0, 6-0 on court six. Junior Chase Bernstine followed suit with a decisive 6-1, 6-2 result over Joseph Blakeley. 
 
Ross sealed the deal for the Hokies against Jonni Heikkila with 6-2, 6-0 win on court four. Before the match was called, Ribeiro wrapped up the contest with a 6-3, 6-0 win on court two.

BLACKSBURG— The Virginia Tech men's tennis team registered their second win of the afternoon in a 6-1 conquest of Gardner-Webb.
 
Continuing their form from earlier, Mitch Harper and Matthis Ross came out victorious on court one, while Ryan Kros and Alex Ribeiro chipped in a win of their own on court two.
 
Kros continued to dominate his opponents on the day, defeating Stefano Puga 6-0, 6-2 on court six. Carlo Donato got in on the action, as well, with a 6-1, 6-3 result over Victor Putter on court three. Ross secured the second win of the day for the Hokies with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Alex Griffiths. 
 
Ribeiro prolonged Tech's impressive performance over the Runnin' Bulldogs on court two, defeating Ross Gilbert 6-2, 6-4. The last point for Virginia Tech came from No. 120 Harper's determined win against Breno Plentz, 6-3, 6-4 on court one.
 
The Hokies will return to action on Friday, February 28, at Duke.
