Hokies Events: Jan. 24-26

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech has four teams at home this weekend starting with track and field hosting the Hokie Invitational beginning Friday morning. Hokies wrestling opens the ACC slate and women's tennis begins spring duals. Women's basketball is looking to extend its win-streak to three on Sunday.

Hokie Invitational

The Hokies are back in rector for the second time in as many weeks, this time to host the Hokie Invitational beginning Friday. Last weekend was highlighted by Jacory Patterson breaking the NCAA record in the 300m dash. Joining Tech at the meet are East Carolina, Elon, Georgetown, High Point, North Carolina A&T, Charlotte, Radford and VCU.

Jan. 24 | 7 p.m. – vs. #12 North Carolina
 
Tech enters the weekend ranked No. 3 in the nation with an undefeated 8-0 record. This is the ACC opener and the 72nd time the Hokies and Tar Heels have met. The Tar Heels are the sixth ranked opponent the Hokies have faced this season and most recently defeated No. 19 Cornell on the road.
 
Women's Tennis

Jan. 26 | 10 a.m. – Appalachian State
Jan. 26 | 3 p.m. – ETSU
 
The Hokies open spring duals on Sunday, hosting a double header with Appalachian State and ETSU. Virginia Tech has already been in action in the new year, having played a final tournament before getting into the dual slate. Tech also welcomes three new players to the team this semester.
 
Women's Basketball

Jan. 26 | 1 p.m. – Clemson
 
Tech enters the game against Clemson with back-to-back wins and having won four of the last five. The Hokies are coming off a decisive 70-49 victory over Boston College on Thursday. Trinity Baptiste came off the bench to drop 20 points to lead the Hokies over the Eagles.
 

AWAY EVENTS

Men's Basketball

Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Conte Forum
Jan. 25 | 2 p.m. – Boston College

The Hokies enter the game against Boston College having won four of their last five ACC contests. Tech is coming off a 79-77 double overtime win over UNC on Wednesday night. Landers Nolley led the team with 22 points and Jalen Cone added 18, but a last second shot by Tyrece Radford secured the victory.

Men's Tennis
Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Jan. 24 | 2 p.m. – LSU
Jan. 26 | 1 p.m. – Alabama

Tech enters the weekend following a 7-0 victory over George Mason to start off the season. The Hokies are set to face SEC opponents LSU and Alabama. Virginia Tech will face the Tigers for the first time, while the Hokies are 4-2 against Alabama.
