No. 18 Hokies draw Boston College Friday afternoon 2-2

BLACKSBURG – In their third ACC match of the season, the No. 18 Virginia Tech men's soccer team earned a draw against Boston College Friday afternoon.

Scoring first has been a trend for the Hokies as they have done so in all but one of their matches this season. Tech kept up that trend when a give-and-go from Daniel Pereira to Kristo Strickler in the 25th minute saw the freshman midfielder find the back of the net.

Tech took that one-goal advantage into the halftime interval.

In the second period, Boston College found the equalizer in the 56th minute when a corner from Amos Shapiro-Thompson found Lasse Lehmann in the box as he was able poke it into the bottom right of the net.

Tech would answer back in the 67th minute Chris Little was able to find Marc Hoppler uncontested in the middle of the box to once again give the Hokies the lead. Tech continued to stay aggressive after gaining the advantage, but two key saves from the Eagles' Christian Garner kept them from extending the lead.

The Hokies played sweltering defense the remainder of the half giving few opportunities, but with time counting down, Joe Kellett converted on a set peice from just outside of the box to tie up the score in 90th minute.

Tech kept up with the pressure in overtime as three of their four corners were during the period.

The Hokies and the Eagles both advanced to 5-2-1 (0-2-1) on the season with the draw
