Bryant Johnson joins Hokies’ broadcast team

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech Athletics and Learfield IMG College, its multimedia rightsholder, announced today that Bryant Johnson will join the Hokies' broadcast team to call women's basketball, as well as all baseball, effective for the current 2019-20 collegiate athletics season.

Johnson will relocate from Louisiana, where he formerly served four seasons as "Voice of the Colonels" and assistant athletic director of communications for Nicholls State University. In addition to his play-by-play duties with Hokie women's basketball and baseball, Johnson will serve as an ACC Network Extra contributor regularly throughout both seasons.

"We're excited to welcome Bryant to Hokie Nation," Director of Athletics Whit Babcock said. "We appreciated how many broadcasters from across the nation expressed their interest in working with our baseball and women's basketball programs at Virginia Tech. Bryant will serve as an excellent addition to our already talented broadcast team."
