Kros falls to No. 23 at NCAA Singles Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. – Virginia Tech senior Jason Kros was eliminated Monday afternoon in the opening round of the 2019 NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Championship at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
 
Kros, ranked 70th nationally, came off the alternate list to compete in the field where he squared off against Tennessee's 23rd-ranked Timo Stodder. The two kept it close early in the first set, but Stodder broke away to win it 6-3 before taking the second 6-0.
 
Kros wraps up a season that saw him earn All-ACC Second Team honors as the ITA National Most Improved Senior award. In addition, Kros was named the ITA Atlantic Region Senior Player of the Year.
