Hokies add Tam to class


BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head volleyball coach Jill Wilson has announced that Rachel Tam is joining the Hokies for the 2019-20 academic year on Wednesday.

Tam, an incoming freshman from New Jersey, joins three other Hokies who will be enrolling this summer, including Logan Mosley (L/DS), Cera Powell (OH) and Anabel Zier (MB).

Personal:Rachel Lee Tam … Born June 19, 2001 … Daughter of Tony and Juanita Tam … Sister of Jonathan and Kelsey … Her mother, Juanita, played college volleyball at Amherst College … Her brother, Jonathan, played baseball at Villanova and made the All-BIG EAST Academic Team and led the league with the best ERA … Her sister, Kelsey, played volleyball for Wesleyan University and was named to the All-NESCAC Academic Team … Planning on majoring in business with the hopes of becoming a CEO or entrepreneur.
