GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech men's basketball players Kerry Blackshear Jr. and Nickeil Alexander-Walker have been named to the All-ACC team, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference office Monday afternoon.
Blackshear, a redshirt junior from Orlando, Florida, was named to the league's second team in a voting by a panel of coaches, media and broadcasters. This is Blackshear's first time in being honored by the league. He was joined on the second team by Luke Maye and Coby White of North Carolina, Ky Bowman of Boston College and Ty Jerome of Virginia.
Alexander-Walker, a sophomore from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, was named to the league's third team. This is Alexander-Walker's first time in being honored by the ACC. He is joined on the third team by Jordan Nwora of Louisville, Marcquise Reed of Clemson, Tyus Battle of Syracuse and John Mooney of Notre Dame.
Alexander-Walker leads the Hokies in scoring this season at 16.6 points per game, followed by Blackshear at 14.5 points per game. The duo tied for the team lead in scoring in ACC games at 15.5 points per game. Blackshear led the Hokies in rebounding at 7.2 rebounds per game and Alexander-Walker led the team in total assists (113) and steals (56).
Zion Williamson of Duke was named both the ACC Player of the Year and the league's Freshman of the Year. He is joined on the first team by teammate RJ Barrett, Cameron Johnson of North Carolina and De'Andre Hunter and Kyle Guy of Virginia.
Tony Bennett of Virginia is the repeat selection as the league's Coach of the Year, and Nwora was named Most Improved Player. Hunter was named Defensive Player of the Year, and Florida State's Mfiondu Kabengele was named Sixth Man of the Year.
