BLACKSBURG – Fresh off its 9-3 victory over ETSU in its home opener on Tuesday afternoon, the Virginia Tech baseball team has announced it will extend its homestand due to the weather that is forecasted in the area over the next few days.
Tech will now host UNC Greensboro at English Field at Union Park in a three-game series starting on Saturday at 2 p.m. instead of heading to the home of the Spartans. Sunday the two teams will play at Noon and Monday's series finale' is set for 1 p.m. Tech is monitoring the weather situation for Saturday, and in the event the game cannot be played, a doubleheader will occur on Sunday with the same start time.
Also, a new first pitch for the Tuesday game against Radford has been announced. The Hokies and Highlanders will now battle at English Field at Union Park starting at 2:30 p.m.
As always, admission to Hokies' nonconference regular season home games is free of charge.
With the change, Tech (4-0) is scheduled to play eight straight games at English Field at Union Park, its longest homestand of the 2019 season as the Hokies play host to Bryant in a three-game series next weekend.
