BLACKSBURG - Four teams in action for the Hokies this weekend as men's basketball is set to host Duke on Friday night. Women's basketball will be in Cassell on Sunday for a non-conference game against Gardner-Webb. On the road representing Tech are men's and women's swimming and diving and wrestling.

The Virginia Tech men's basketball team (6-2, 1-0 ACC) awaits No. 10/8 Duke (8-1, 0-0 ACC) this Friday, Dec. 6 following last week's fourth place finish in the eight-team Maui Invitational. The Hokies picked up a key win over then-ranked No. 3/3 Michigan State in the opening round of the tournament, marking the program's best non-conference victory since 1964's win over No. 3 Vanderbilt. The Hokies look to continue their success against ranked opponents, as they host No. 10/8 Duke from Cassell Coliseum, where Virginia Tech has won the last three meetings when played in Blacksburg.

The Virginia Tech women's basketball team (7-1) is set to host Gardner-Webb (3-2) following Thursday's big win in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge over [RV] Purdue. The Hokies improved to a perfect 5-0 at home this season following their biggest win of the season, and look to continue their winning ways before hitting the road in the team's last tournament, the Coqui Classic in Puerto Rico, before opening conference play.

Dec. 6-7 | Cliff Keen Invite
The No. 5 Virginia Tech wrestling team (3-0), with all wins recorded over ranked opponents this season, is set to compete in the Cliff Keen Invite from Las Vegas, Nev. The Hokies, following a bye-week, await the two-day, 32-team tournament, beginning Friday, Dec. 6, and concluding Saturday, Dec. 7. In the squad's last showing, the Hokies took home the team title at the 18-team Navy Classic in Annapolis, Md. However, this weekend's Cliff Keen Invite will mark the last regular season tournament for the Hokies until the ACC Championship, with six non-conference opponents and all five ACC matches ahead on the schedule.

Dec. 4-7 | US Open Championships
Members of the Virginia Tech men's (4-0) and women's (3-2) swimming and diving teams are set to compete at the US Open Championship, hosted at Georgia Tech by USA Swimming, in effort to qualify athletes for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. The four-day meet for long course meter competition started Wednesday, Dec. 4 and will conclude Saturday, Dec. 7 from the McCauley Aquatic Center. The US Open Championships will mark the last meet for the Hokies in this calendar year before returning to action in January to host the teams' first in-conference dual meet, a Commonwealth Clash against Virginia at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
