BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's basketball team will play host to Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday, November 19 with tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
Tech sits at 3-0 on the young season convincing victories over Saint Francis and George Mason in the first week of the season and a 73-69 victory over in-state foe Liberty last Friday night on Carilion Clinic Court.

THE HAWKS
Maryland Eastern Shore has started 1-3 on the season defeating Wesley College in the opener before losing to William & Mary, Syracuse, and UNC Greensboro, all on the road.
The Hawks are led in the scoring column by junior guard Amanda Carney who averages 9.8 per game and 4.8 rebounds and is followed closely by junior forward Bairesha Gill-Miles at 9.5 points and 4.0 rebounds.
On the season the Hawks are shooting 34% from the field and just 24% from beyond the arc.
THE MATCHUP WITH MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE
Tech leads the all-time series 2-0 dating back to 2014.
Last matchup in 2017, the Hokies erupted for 90 points shooting 47.5% from the field. Four Hokies were in double figures, led by Regan Magarity's 20 points.
NOTES ON THE HOKIES
Tech has several individuals who rank amongst the ACC leaders in numerous statistical categories.
- Aisha Sheppard is third in the league in scoring, averaging 19.3 points per game.
- Lydia Rivers is second in rebounding at 10.3 per game.
- Taja Cole, who is on the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List leads the conference in assists, averaging 7.3 per contest.
- Freshman center Elizabeth Kitley is tied for third in the league in shooting percentage at 67%.
As a team, Tech ranks second in the ACC in scoring offense (85.0), fifth in scoring margin (+29.0), first in field goal percentage (.543) and 3-point field goal percentage (.424) and the Hokies are second in assists (17.7 per game).
NEXT TIME ON CARILION CLINIC COURT
Tech will return to Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum on Sunday, November 24 to take on Davidson at 5 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
The Hokies and Wildcats have met once previously, in 2004 with the Hokies winning 87-62. Current Virginia Tech assistant coach Britney Anderson scored six points in the victory.
