Hokies Events: Nov. 15-17

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech has three home events this weekend beginning with postseason NCAA women's soccer at Thompson Field on Friday. Women's and men's basketball are back in Cassell on Friday and Saturday, respectively. 

HOME EVENTS
Women's Soccer

Blacksburg, Va.
Thompson Field
Nov. 15 | 5 p.m. - No. 24 Xavier

The NCAA Tournament will be returning to Blacksburg as the [RV] Virginia Tech women's soccer team (12-4-2, 4-4-2 ACC) is set to host nationally ranked No. 24 Xavier (16-3-2, 7-2-0 BIG EAST) in the first round of play. Qualifying in their second consecutive NCAA Tournament, the Hokies look to defend their home field, as they are 5-1-1 all-time in tournament action when playing from home. Kickoff will begin at 5 p.m. from Thompson Field this Friday, Nov. 15.

Nov. 15 | 7 p.m. - Liberty

The Virginia Tech women's basketball team (2-0) will return home to some more non-conference action this weekend following its early undefeated start to the season. Last weekend, the Hokies defeated George Mason in their first road game of the season following a win at home in the season opener against Saint Francis. The Hokies will tip-off at 7 p.m. against Liberty (1-2) this Friday, Nov. 15 from Cassell Coliseum.

Nov. 16 | 1:30 p.m. - Lehigh 

The Virginia Tech men's basketball team (3-0, 1-0 ACC) is set to host Lehigh (2-1) this Saturday, Nov. 16 from Cassell Coliseum, marking the first meeting in program history against the Mountain Hawks. The Hokies, having won its past three games, look to continue their early season success this weekend heading into their third straight non-conference home game in the four-game stretch before departing for the Maui Invitational at the end of next week.

Cross Country

Charlottesville, Va.
Panorama Farms
Nov. 15 | 10:30 a.m. - NCAA Southeast Regionals

The nationally ranked No. 22 Virginia Tech men's cross country team and the No. 23 Virginia Tech women's cross country team look to extend their seasons this weekend from the NCAA Southeast Regional out of Charlottesville, Va. The Hokies women placed fourth at ACCs while the men's team was led by Peter Seufer who his second consecutive ACC title.

Nov. 15 | 7 p.m. - Clemson

The Hokies are back on the road for the third-straight match this weekend, traveling to Clemson. Tech played a close one against the Tigers in Blacksburg earlier this season before falling in four-sets.

Atlanta, Ga.
Bobby Dodd Stadium
Nov. 16 | 3:30 p.m. - Georgia Tech

The Virginia Tech football team looks to continue its run through the Coastal as the Hokies travel to Georgia Tech. Virginia Tech is looking for a win this weekend in Atlanta to become bowl eligible and continue the nation's longest active streak, making it 27 straight.

Nov. 17 | Noon - No. 3 Ohio State

The No. 11 Virginia Tech wrestling team (2-0) is set to compete against its third consecutive ranked opponent, No. 3 Ohio State (1-0), this weekend from Columbus, Ohio. The Hokies, having previously defeated No. 9 Missouri and No. 21 Northwestern, are set to hit the road for their first true road match against arguably their toughest opponent on schedule.
