MEET NOTES
• The Tech men's team, which recently came in third at the ACC Championships held Nov. 1 at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course on Tech's campus, finished eighth at last year's NCAA Southeast Regional and has finished in the top 10 at the regional meet for eight consecutive seasons.
• The Tech women's team, coming off a fourth-place finish at the ACC Championships, finished fifth at the Southeast Regional a year ago and also has a streak of eight consecutive top-10 finishes.
• Peter Seufer leads the Tech men's team after winning a second consecutive ACC title at the ACC Championships. He became the second Tech men's runner in program history to claim two individual conference cross country titles and the first since Louis Castagnola won back-to-back Southern Conference crowns in 1959-60.
• Seufer has earned All-Southeast Region honors in each of the past two seasons, and he finished second at the 2018 NCAA Southeast Regional.
• Sara Freix anchors the Tech women's team after coming in second at the ACC Championships. The senior is now a two-time All-ACC choice, and she earned all-region honors after an eighth-place finish last year.
• The men's team also features two more All-ACC choices in Diego Zarate and Fitsum Seyoum, who came in seventh and 11th, respectively, at the ACC Championships. Kyra Lopez, a graduate transfer from Boise State, joined Freix on the All-ACC women's team after her 15th-place finish at the ACC Championships.
COMING UP
The NCAA Cross Country Selection Show will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. and can be watched on the NCAA website at NCAA.com. Both Tech squads could be in line for an at-large berth to the NCAA Championships provided either or both do not finish in the top two at the regional meet. The Tech men would be looking to make their eighth appearance at the NCAA Championships in program history, while an appearance at this year's Championships would be the third in program history for the Tech women.
