Opens in a new window ACC Release

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Forward Kristo Strickler and midfielder Daniel Pereira of the Virginia Tech men's soccer team (9-5-3, 2-4-2) were named as members of the 2019 ACC All-Conference Teams, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Strickler, who was named a 2019 preseason All-ACC and was announced as a member of the 2019 All-ACC Second Team, continued his ascension into one of the top point-scorers in the conference. Starting in all 17 games on the season, the Hilliard, Ohio native tallied a team leading 21 points (9 goals, 3 assist). His 21 points rank eighth in the league, while he sits tied for fifth in goals.

On the season, the junior forward was credited with three game-winning goals and recorded two multi-goal games, including the first hat trick of his career in Tech's 4-0 win over Gardner-Webb (Oct. 1).

Pereira was named to the Freshman Team after contributing five goals and three assists for a total of 13 points on the season. The Roanoke, Virginia native was a crucial member for the Hokies' squad as he started every game and played a team-high 1,502 minutes.

Pereira came on strong late in the season, scoring a goal in matches against Duke (Nov. 1), Louisville (Nov.6) and Wake Forest (Nov.10).

The Hokies await their opponent in the NCAA Tournament, with the 2019 bracket to be revealed on Monday, Nov 18.

A fourth consecutive appearance in the tournament would be the longest streak in program history.
