BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech volleyball and wrestling teams will be in action this weekend at Cassell Coliseum as the Hokies wrestling squad opens the season against Missouri.

The USTFCCA's nationally ranked No. 23 Virginia Tech women's cross country team and the No. 26 Virginia Tech men's cross country team look to defend its home course this Friday, Nov. 1 at the ACC Championship. In the program's second hosting of the ACC Cross Country Championships, this season's Hokies look to follow the lead of the 2012 men's team who took home the conference championship on its home course that year.

The Virginia Tech volleyball team (9-14, 2-8 ACC) will host a pair of conference opponents hailing from the sunshine state this weekend out at Cassell Coliseum. The Hokies will kick-off the weekend against RV Florida State (14-6, 8-3 ACC) on Friday, Nov. 1 before returning to action Sunday, Nov. 3 to challenge Miami (8-11, 4-7 ACC). Last weekend, the Hokies defeated Wake Forest on the road before their return to Blacksburg for this weekend's homestead.

The No. 16 Virginia Tech wrestling team will make its season debut this Friday, Oct. 2 at Cassell Coliseum against No. 9 Missouri, marking the fifth meeting all-time between the two prolific programs. The Hokies will also host the Southeast Open wrestling tournament the following day out of Roanoke, Va. at the Berglund Center to conclude this weekend's competitions.

The Virginia Tech women's tennis team will represent athletes in two unique tournaments this weekend. The Hokies are set to partake in the 11-team Lakewood Ranch Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic out of Lakewood Ranch, Fla. among participating in the 6-team Kentucky Invite hosted by the University of Kentucky. Both tournaments will be played Nov. 1-3.

The Virginia Tech swimming & diving team will travel to challenge Penn State and Ohio State in the Hokies' first tri-meet of the season. Last weekend, the women's team and the No. 24 ranked men's team defeated George Washington to open its season. In addition to the No. 24 Virginia Tech men's team, other ranked teams competing this weekend feature No. 8 Ohio State's men's team, RV Penn State's men's team and No. 24 Ohio State's women's team.

The No. 22 Virginia Tech men's soccer team (7-4-2, 1-4-2 ACC) will travel to face Duke (7-7-2, 2-4-1 ACC) in the regular season finale before gearing up for the postseason. The Hokies are looking for a big win to propel the team moving forward in efforts to improve upon last season's streak to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Virginia Tech football team (5-2, 2-2 ACC) aims to upset No. 16 Notre Dame (5-2) this Saturday, Nov. 2, in the series's third meeting all-time. The Hokies, who have won 10 of its last 12 road games versus AP-ranked opponents, look to match its performance from the team's last visit to Notre Dame in 2016, where the Hokies defeated the Irish in the inaugural meeting 34-31.
