Tech wraps up ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. ­– Virginia Tech's Natalie Novotna and Rita Pinto wrapped up competition on Friday at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
 
The Hokies faced 11th-ranked Lauren Alter and Tatum Rice of Arkansas in the consolation doubles main draw. Novotna and Pinto were edged by the Razorback pair, 8-6.

Virginia Tech women's tennis split results on Thursday at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
 
The Hokies' 15th-ranked Natalie Novotna and Rita Pinto faltered in the opening round to Vanderbilt's Georgia Drummy and Christina Rosca, 8-3.
 
In the consolation draw, Novotna and Pinto came back to down Shura Poppe and Marina Davtyan of Tulsa, 8-5.
 
The Hokies will be back on the court tomorrow against 11th-ranked Lauren Alter and Tatum Rice of Arkansas.

Virginia Tech's Natalie Novotna took to the court today at the 2019 ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
 
Novotna fell to No. 99 Maty Cancini of Iowa State, 6-2, 7-5. The Tech senior will be back on the court tomorrow morning in the consolation draw.
 
Additionally, Novotna will be in action later this week with teammate Rita Pinto in the main draw of doubles beginning Oct. 9.
