BLACKSBURG – Driving down I-81 and I-77 this evening, Virginia Tech men's basketball's coach Mike Young and juniors Wabissa Bede and P.J. Horne will represent the Hokies at ACC Operation Basketball in Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday.
The all-day event begins at 9:45 a.m. ET for Tech and will wrap up a little after 3:45 p.m. inside the Charlotte Marriott City Center. The trio will be on the ACC Network live set at 12:15 p.m., so be sure to tune in for their 15-minute segment discussing the upcoming season.
Young, who enters his first season at Tech, Bede (35 GP, 3.8 ppg in 2018-19) and Horne (29 GP, 3.3 ppg) will be on the main stage at 1:30 p.m., fielding questions from various media members, while individual breakout sessions will happen before from 12:45-1:30 p.m. A few marketing photoshoots and fun social videos will also occupy their day, working with the ACC, ESPN, CBS, FOX, among others.
The 2019-20 regular season begins Nov. 5, with the Hokies playing at Clemson at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. This season marks the ACC's first-ever 20-game conference slate, including seven league matchups to begin the regular season on Nov. 5 and 6.
