Hokies prepared for last weekend of fall competition


BLACKSBURG, Va.- The Virginia Tech women's tennis team will be action this weekend in two separate locations - the Kentucky Invitational and the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic.

LWR DICK VITALE CLAY COURT CLASSIC (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.)
Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 – Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019

Seniors Shene Disbergen and Natalie Novotna will make the trip to Lakewood Ranch, Fla., to compete in the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic. Play begins Friday, Nov. 1, and will wrap up on Sunday, Nov. 3. Last year, Novotna claimed the tournament crown. Players from Nebraska, Oklahoma St., Appalachian St., USF, Boston College, Florida, UCF, Virginia Tech, Auburn and Michigan will compete.

A squad consisting of Nina Sorkin, Nika Kozar, Elizabet Danailova, Annie Clark, Rita Pinto, Jade Woo, Lily Hackbirth and Audrey Butterworthwill venture to Lexington, Ky. for the Kentucky Invitational. This will be Danailova's first time seeing action this season. Action begins at 9 a.m. Friday with doubles, followed by singles. Student-athletes from Kentucky, Utah, West Virginia, Miami, DePaul and Penn State will be in attendance.
