In the ACC rankings, libero Logan Mosley owns the No. 3 mark in the ACC for digs per set (4.45) and setter Talyn Jackson ranks seventh in the league for assists per set with a 9.44 average.

SCOUTING NC STATE

•  Before it loss to Carolina on Wednesday, State opened ACC play on the road and was beat by Notre Dame (9-3, 2-0) in four sets and to [RV] Louisville (9-3, 2-0) in five.

•  Head coach Linda Hampton-Keith enters her fourth season in Raleigh, following a five-year stint at Arizona State as an assistant. Her first three years with the Pack have taken the program to new heights, producing State's first top-10 win and two AVCA All-Americans.

•  The Wolfpack are led by Melissa Evans offensively and her third-best kills per set mark (3.85) in the ACC and Kaylee Frazier defensively, boasting the top digs per set average (4.65) in the league.

•  Tech leads the all-time series 21-14 against the Wolfpack, but have lost four in a row, dating back to 2015. The Hokies are 10-10 in Raleigh.

SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA

•  Carolina, which was down 8-3 and came back to win it 15-12 versus State in the fifth, was swept at Notre Dame and fell to Louisville in four last weekend.

•  Head coach Joe Sagula is now in his 30th season in Chapel Hill and is the winningest coach in school history. Having a great coaching tree, Sagula had Virginia Tech coach Jill Wilson on his staff from 2002-05.

•  The Tar Heels have two players in the top 10 of the ACC's block per set rankings, with Aristea Tontai (1.20) at seventh and Skyy Howard (1.16) at eighth, making them one of only three schools (Florida State, Duke) that can say that.

•  Tech trails the all-time series 26-6, but earned its first sweep over UNC last season for the first time in 12 years and got its first win in seven years. However, Tech is just 1-17 all-time in Chapel Hill, getting its lone win in 2006.
