Top Notes for the Hokies (link to Game Notes pdf packet)

Feighan scores twice last week for Hokies
- With her output last week of two goals, Molly Feighan now has three this season to go along with her three assists. She becomes the first Hokies player with 3 or more in each category since 2015 - when both Murielle Tiernan (14g, 3a) and Ashley Meier (6g, 5a) did it.
- Her goal in the 10th minute versus Florida State (Oct. 10) was the team's first against the Seminoles since Oct. 12, 2014 (Kallie Peurifoy) and gave the Hokies their first lead over Florida State since Dec. 6, 2013 when Ashley Manning gave Tech a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute in the College Cup semifinal match.
- Feighan's goal in the 78th minute versus the Wolfpack (Oct. 13) tied the match and helped the Hokies earn a point at NC State as the team's ended in a 0-0 draw in a weather-shortened overtime session.

Speaking of overtime - Hokies have played three straight
- After not playing a single overtime match through its first 11 contests, the Hokies have gone to overtime in its last three, including double overtime against a pair of top 10 programs.
- The three straight are the most since Tech played in four straight overtime games from Oct. 9-23, which all went to double overtime. The Hokies won at Boston College (3-2), tied both Louisville (1-1) and No. 14 Notre Dame (0-0) and then lost at Miami (2-1).

Tech seeking double figures in wins and shutouts
- Prior to 2008, Tech reached the 10-win plateau just once (2004, 11) and since has posted at least 10 victories in a season 10 times, including a nine-year stretch from 2008-16.
- Head coach Chugger Adair has won at least 10 matches in each of his eight previous season except in 2017, when the team won just seven, the fewest since 2006.
- The Hokies have eight shutouts this year and their next one would mark the eighth time the team has recorded at least nine clean sheets in a single season. Just five times the team has reached double figures.
- Currently, the eight shutouts are the second-most 14 matches into a season (9, 2012 & 2014) while the 11 goals allowed are tied for the third fewest at the same point (8, 2014; 9, 2013, 11, 2012).
- Neither the 2012 or 2014 team posted a shutout in match No. 15.

McGlynn breaks school record for career shutouts
- Behind a seven-save performance against No. 10 Duke (Oct. 6), Tech's Mandy McGlynn posted the 30th shutout of her Tech career breaking the school record in the process.
- McGlynn, who has cemented her place among Tech's all-time goalkeepers, needed to make four saves in the final 10 minutes of action to preserve the shutout. It was her league-leading eighth of the season, already the third-most ever in a single season, and broke the career mark, which she had shared at 29 with Dayle Colpitts (2010-13) entering the match.

Facing ranked foes, four straight, and all in top 10
- The Hokies recently completed a four-match stretch where they faced four straight ranked opponents, which marked just the fifth time in program history during the regular season and the eighth time overall.
- This year's stretch marked the first time Tech faced four straight programs ranked in the Top 10.
- All-time, Tech is now 30-88-14 (132 games - 28.0 win percentage) against ranked foes. Under coach Chugger Adair (nine seasons), the Hokies are 17-41-8 (31.8), while they were 13-47-6 (24.2) prior.
