BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech football team is back on the field on Saturday, October 19 for a Homecoming contest against ACC Coastal Division foe North Carolina. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on RSN.

HOKIES RETURN TO ACC PLAY VS. UNC               
• Virginia Tech hosts a Homecoming contest vs. North Carolina (10/19) as the Hokies seek to extend their winning streak to four games against the Tar Heels. 
• The history of the VT-UNC series dates back to 1895, but a 1997 Gator Bowl contest marked the only meeting between the two schools following a 1945 game in Roanoke and Tech's initial ACC game vs. UNC (11/6/04). 
• Tech is seeking to construct a three-game victory streak after a 42-35 win at Miami (10/5) and a 34-17 victory vs. Rhode Island (10/12). 
• VT's last three-game winning streak came at BC (10/7/17), vs. UNC (10/21/17) and vs. Duke (10/28/17).
• Boasting one of the ACC's youngest lineups, VT isn't anticipated to have any seniors in the starting lineup for Saturday's game with S Reggie Floyd out in the first half.
• UNC is coming off a bye after a 38-22 win at GT (10/5). 
• Tech enjoys a bye before traveling to Notre Dame (11/2).

• Tech is 3-0 vs. UNC under head coach Justin Fuente as the Hokies own a 115-29 scoring edge in those contests.
• The Hokies have won 27 straight contests when holding foes to 21 points or fewer dating back to 2015. 
• Virginia Tech owns a 25-1 mark under Fuente when leading at halftime.
• Tech owns a 78-4 (.951) mark at Lane Stadium when holding foes to 17 points or less dating back to 2000.

• VT's offense ranks second in the ACC on third down, converting 51.2% (43 of 84) tries, trailing only Wake Forest (53.3%). UNC ranks eighth at 36.2% (34 of 94).  
• Tech & UNC are tied for second in the ACC with a 95.8 Red Zone scoring percentage. VT owns a 75.0 TD pct. (18 TDs on 24 RZ possessions), while UNC has a 62.5 Red Zone TD pct. (15 TDs on 24 RZ possessions).  
• VT is now 23-6 (.793) under Fuente when producing 150+ net rush yards. Tech had 224 rushing yards vs. Rhode Island (10/12). The Hokies are 13-3 under Fuente when producing 200+ net rushing yards.

QB HENDON HOOKER 2-0 AS STARTING QB    
• QB Hendon Hooker has guided Tech to a 2-0 record in his first two collegiate starts. He has completed 26 of 47 passes (55.3%) for 445 yards with six TDs and no INTs (177.0 rating) in those contests. 
• Hooker has also ran 31 times for 119 yards with one TD.
