No. 22 Tech falls 3-1 to Pittsburgh Friday night

Pittsburgh used three second-half goals in a span of four minutes to defeat No. 22 Virginia Tech 3-1 Friday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
 
Pittsburgh (6-4-2, 2-2-1) was aggressive throughout the first period as they tried to get the early lead against Tech (6-3-2, 0-3-2). Timely plays from the Hokies backend and three saves by Mathijs Swaneveld kept the Panthers off the board.
 
Tech had trouble finding a rhythm offensively in the first half as they only took two shots with the best chance of the two, a header from Kristo Strickler, sailing over the crossbar.
 
The Hokies were aggressive to start the second half but shots by Strickler, Daniel Pereira and Sivert Haugli were unable to find their mark due to saves made by Pitt's keeper Arie Ammann
 
Affter a level through 70 minutes of play, the Panther's were able to find the back of the net in the 72nd minute through Valentin Noel. Goals by Edward Kizza in the 73rd minute and Veljko Petkovic in the 75th minute would give the Panthers a lead that the Hokies were unable to overtake.
 
The Hokies were able to get on the board with a goal from Jacob Labovitz that was assisted by James Kasak
