BLACKSBURG - The Hokies have several teams in town this weekend with women's tennis hosting the Hokie Fall Invite, softball competing in a fall-ball doubleheader, and women's soccer hosting No. 10 Duke on Sunday to wrap up the home events.

The Virginia Tech women's tennis team will host its first tournament of the fall season this weekend at the annual Hokie Fall Invite. Following last month's action at the Bedford Cup to open up the fall slate, the Hokies return home for the first time this season to host the five-team invitational. Competition will be held from Friday, Oct. 4 through Sunday, Oct. 6 at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

The Virginia Tech softball team will return to Tech Softball Park this Friday following last weekend's fall season debut. The Hokies will play host in its second doubleheader contest of the season, with games against Georgia Highlands and Louisburg College, on Friday, Oct. 4. The remaining two doubleheaders of the fall season will be played at home in the following weeks: Friday, Oct. 11 and Friday Oct. 18.

The No. 23 Virginia Tech women's soccer team (9-2, 1-2 ACC) will play host to its third consecutive ranked ACC opponent, No. 10 Duke (6-1-3, 1-0-2 ACC), in the Hokies' toughest stretch of the regular season. Coming off a 9-0 undefeated start to the year, Virginia Tech has fallen on the road in its two most recent conference matchups, but aim to bounce bakc in sight of the team's 10th win of the season, through only 12 games.

The Virginia Tech volleyball team (7-8, 0-2 ACC) is set to hit the road for the second straight weekend to compete in two conference matches in the state of North Carolina. The Hokies will first challenge the Wolfpack of NC State (5-10, 0-3 ACC) on Friday, Oct. 4, before traveling to face the Tar Heels of North Carolina (4-9, 1-2 ACC) on Sunday, Oct. 6.

The Virginia Tech men's golf team will partake in the two-day Wolfpack Intercollegiate, hosted by NC State. The 15-team field will begin play on Saturday, Oct; 5 from the Loonie Poole Golf Course, and
and will conclude play on Sunday, Oct. 6. Through only two tournaments completed on the fall schedule, the Hokies have finished as high as second at the 12-team VCU Invite last month.

In just its third tournament of the fall season, the Virginia Tech men's tennis team is set to compete at the ITA Men's All American Championships from Tulsa, Okla. The week long championships will begin on Saturday, Oct. 5 and will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 13. The Hokies, having competed at the Liberty Invite and Duke Bonk Invite last month, look to use that early season experience to propel them through the ITA Men's All American Championships.

The Virginia Tech football team (2-2, 0-2 ACC) will travel to ACC rival, Miami (2-2, 0-1 ACC) this Saturday, Oct. 5, in a fight for each team's first conference win on the year. The Hokies, having traveled only once this season, will look to flip the script on the road following its previous two conference decisions.

The No. 22 Virginia Tech men's soccer team (6-2-1, 0-2-1 ACC) will travel for a conference showdown against No. 6 Clemson (9-1, 2-1 ACC) this Saturday, Oct. 5. The Hokies, looking for its first outright ACC win on the year, will look to carry some momentum following a 4-0 win over Gardner-Webb last Tuesday at home, continuing the team's undefeated record versus non-conference opponents.
