Baseball opens fall season and announces fall schedule

BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech baseball team officially opened its fall season on Monday with a full squad workout, while today, the team will hold its first intrasqaud scrimmage.

The Hokies, who released their 24 newcomers to the program last week (click here), are also announcing their fall schedule, which includes three fall contests, two exhibitions and one against an international team, the Fieldhouse Pirates. All of the games will take place at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park.

Also, below, check out head coach John Szefc, who spoke yesterday about the team's first practice of the fall.

This week, the team will also take part in the Drive for 25 Blitz, a 2.5 day event where Virginia Tech alumni, students, faculty, staff, and fans of Virginia Tech Athletics are welcome and encouraged to participate from noon on September 25 through 11:59 PM (EDT) on September 27, 2019. The goal is to grow the membership of the Hokie Club in order to provide necessary resources for more than 550 Hokie student-athletes to excel in the classroom, in competition, and in the community!
