BLACKSBURG – The No. 16 Virginia Tech men's soccer team begins their 2019 season on Aug. 30 against Loyola Marymount, but before that will play host to Old Dominion Tuesday night at Thompson Field for their second exhibition match of the preseason.
The Hokies are coming off 3-1 victory in their scrimmage against West Virginia and will once again see themselves tested as they face the Monarchs led by 22nd-year head coach Alan Dawson. ODU is coming off an 11-5-2 season and made it to the second round of the Conference USA tournament before falling 4-2 to the Charlotte 49ers.
Following Tuesday's preseason matchup, Tech will face Georgetown on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Field. The Hokies' first home match of the season is on Friday, September 13th at 7:00 p.m. versus North Carolina. Admission to all games at Thompson Field is free.
