Women’s basketball contingent in Paris, getting acclimated to life in Europe

PARIS – Following a long travel day that began at Hahn Hurst and included a bus ride to Charlotte, a flight to Atlanta and an eight-and-a-half-hour flight across the Atlantic Ocean, the Virginia Tech women's basketball team and staff arrived in Paris, France at around 10 a.m. local time.

The group headed to its new home, in the center of the city to move in and in some cases, take a nap. In the afternoon, Eric, the tour guide, led an excursion through the city where the group passed bakeries, shops and an open market.

In the late afternoon, the Hokies headed to dinner where many sampled new dishes not normally found on menus in America including duck, and snails.

After a short ride along the metro, the night ended with a tour along the beautiful Seine River, where the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and several other impressive buildings and monuments could be seen.
