Virginia Tech men's golfer Joey Jordan has been named to the 2019 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars team, as awarded by the Golf Coaches Association of America. This is first time on the list for Jordan.
Jordan, a native of Richmond, Virginia who finished his career in April for the Hokies, is one of 19 Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes named to the team.
Jordan, who graduated in May with a degree in entrepreneurship, appeared in seven of the team's 11 matches this season. He was fifth on the team in final round scoring average, at 74.57. He had a career-best 28th place finish at the Grandover Collegiate in the fall.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
