GREENWOOD, Ind. – For the second straight season, No. 22/20 Virginia Tech softball's Carrie Eberle was named to CoSIDA's 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District 3 Softball Team, as announced by the organization on Friday.

The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Eberle, a biology major with a 3.86 GPA, is one of only three players on the team to make it two consecutive years, joining Western Carolina's Madison Armstrong and Belmont's Hayley Baker.

The righty ranks first in complete games (21) in the ACC and second in wins (25), innings pitched (189.2), ERA (1.73) & shutouts (nine). Earlier this week, Eberle was named the ACC Pitcher of the Year and first-team All-ACC.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District teams include student-athletes that are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Division I Google Cloud Academic All-America teams will be announced on June 6.

Next up for the Hokies will be NCAA Tournament Selection Show, which will take place on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
