Four Hokies tabbed to ACC All-Academic wrestling team

BLACKSBURG – Redshirt junior Korbin Myers and redshirt seniors Tom Sleigh, Billy Miller and Zack Zavatsky have been named to the ACC's All-Academic team, the conference announced Wednesday.

This marks the fourth time in his career that Zavatsky has been tabbed to the all-academic squad. Myers, Sleigh and Miller, who all came to Blacksburg with academic accolades from their previous institutions, earn all-academic honors in their first seasons in the ACC.

Tech's four selections were tied for the second-most in the conference with NC State.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.

Miller, Sleigh and Zavatsky were also named Scholar All-Americans by the National Wrestling Coaches Association last week. As a team, the Hokies had the 24th highest GPA in Division I this season with a 3.21.
