Round Three - Tuesday
The Virginia Tech women's golf team posted a two-day total of 3-over 579 and tied with Florida State and Augusta for eighth place at the weather-shortened Clemson Invitational on Tuesday. The three-day tournament was played at the par 72, 6,260-yard The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, South Carolina.
Tech shot an opening round 285 on Sunday and followed that with a 294 on Monday. Tuesday's final round was canceled due to inclement weather in the Upstate of South Carolina and all scores reverted back to the end of Monday's second round
Amanda Hollandsworth, a graduate student from Floyd, Virginia, led the Hokies at Clemson. She posted a two-round total of 3-under 141 and tied for 13th place. She finished five strokes behind co-champions Micheala Williams of Tennessee and Julie McCarthy of Auburn.
Elizabeth Bose, a senior from Norfolk, Virginia and Jessica Spicer, a junior from Bahama, North Carolina, tied for 35th place at 145. Emily Mahar, a sophomore from Brisbane, Australia and Keera Foocharoen, a freshman from Bangkok, Thailand, tied for 57th place at 148.
Vanderbilt claimed the team title with a 21-under 555, eight strokes ahead of Auburn and 13 strokes ahead of host Clemson. Illinois was fourth at 574, Texas A&M was fifth at 575, LSU was sixth at 576 and Tennessee was seventh at 577, two strokes ahead of the Hokies, Seminoles and Jags. Michigan State was 11th at 580, Virginia was 12th at 581, Purdue was 13th at 582, Kentucky was 14th at 584, Indiana was 15th at 585, UNC Wilmington was 16th at 591, Tulane was 17th at 595 and Kansas finished 18th at 602.
This was the final tournament of the regular season. Tech returns to action April 18-20 at the 2019 ACC Women's Golf Championship. The three-day event will be played at Sedgefield County Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. Seedings for the tournament will be announced next week.

Jessica Spicer, a junior from Bahama, North Carolina, is tied for 12thwith a 2-under 70 and the trio of Emily Mahar, a sophomore from Brisbane, Australia, Keera Foocharoen, a freshman from Bangkok, Thailand and Elizabeth Bose, a senior from Norfolk, Virginia, are tied for 38thwith 73s.
Auburn and Vanderbilt share the lead at 10-under 278, five strokes ahead of Illinois and seven strokes ahead of the Hokies. Purdue and host Clemson are tied for fifth at 286, Florida State and LSU are tied for seventh at 287, Texas A&M is ninth at 288 and Kentucky and Michigan State are tied for 10that 291. Tennessee and Virginia are tied for 12that 292, Tulane and Augusta are tied for 14that 293, Indiana is 16that 294, UNC Wilmington is 17that 295 and Kansas is 18that 303.
