Hokies set for a pair of ACC home matches

BLACKSBURG —The Virginia Tech women's tennis team resumes play this weekend, facing off against Louisville and No. 50 Notre Dame at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

THE HOKIES
Tech will return to action for two weekend matches after playing one match this past weekend. The Hokies looked strong against No. 3 Duke in their ACC matchup. The highlight of the day was Nika Kozar's performance against Kelly Chen (No. 22). In only two sets, the sophomore from Slovenia got her first ranked win of the season and the second of her career, winning 6-3, 6-3. Freshman Rita Pinto also looked convincing against Hannah Zhao on court six, cruising to a 6-4, 6-0 win.
 
THE CARDINALS
Last Sunday, Louisville fell 5-2 to Boston College at home. Raven Neely picked up a win on Court #3, 6-1, 6-1. The second point of the day came from Aleksandra Mally, fending off her opponent 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 on court four. The Hokies control the all-time series with the Cardinals 12-2.
 
THE FIGHTING IRISH
Notre Dame competed twice last weekend, falling to Duke (No. 3) and Georgia Tech (No. 33). In the latest rankings, junior Zoe Spence is ranked #64 in the nation. The Irish have two doubles pairs ranked, Cameron Corse and Zoe Spence (No. 72), along with Ally Bojczuk and Bess Waldram (No. 89).
