Patterson named Co-ACC Men’s Performer of the week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Jacory Patterson of Virginia Tech's track and field teams has been named Co-ACC Men's Track Performer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
 
The Columbia, South Carolina native broke Hillard Sumner's 1996 400-meter Tech record (46.73) with his time of 45.76 seconds to finish second last weekend at the Florida Relays. That time is currently the second-fastest time in the country and is the No. 1 time in the world among all athletes under the age of 20.
 
Five others were selected by the ACC for weekly honors, including Syracuse's Iliass Aouani (Co-Men's Track), Clemson's Roje Stona (Men's Field), North Carolina's Nicole Greene (Women's Field) Florida State's Ka'Tia Seymour (Co-Women's Track) and Syracuse's Paige Stoner (Co-Women's Track).
 
This weekend the jumps group will head to the Peach State as they will participate in Georgia's Spec Towns Invitational. The meet will begin Friday April 5 and will carry through Saturday April 6.
