Kros, Korsgaard earn All-ACC honors

GREENSBORO N.C. – Virginia Tech men's tennis team had two players named to the All-ACC teams. Senior Jason Kros was named to the 2019 All-ACC Second Team, while junior Henrik Korsgaard was recognized on the All-ACC Third Team, as selected by the league's head coaches and announced Thursday.

Kros posted a 26-16 overall record this year and was 13-10 on the spring, playing at the one for almost all of the season. He tallied three ranked wins this season, all against ACC foes. Against #44 Duke, Kros defeated Nick Stachowiak (No. 41) convincingly, 6-2, 6-3. Not long after at #44 Georgia Tech, he battled to a three set victory against Carlos Divar (No. 30). Earlier this month, Kros ousted Adria Sorriano Barrera (No. 36) in a match against #24 Miami. He has remained ranked all season, most recently 67th by the ITA.

Korsgaard resided primarily at the two spot for most of the season, finishing with a 13-5 record while going 21-8 on the year. He posted an impressive win against #44 Duke, toppling Spencer Furman (No. 114), 6-2, 6-2. The Denmark-native also posted wins against ranked teams Notre Dame (No. 16), Miami (No. 24), and Florida State (No. 31).

In addition, both were impressive in doubles with Kros recording a 21-8 overall record, while going 15-5 in the spring. Korsgaard tallied a 20-13 mark with a 10-8 spring record, playing primarily at the one.
