Hokies set for 2019 ACC Women's Tennis Championship

BLACKSBURG - The 13th-seeded Virginia Tech women's tennis team will play in the First Round of the 2019 ACC Women's Tennis Championship on Wednesday against 12th-seeded Clemson. The match is set to take place at 11:30 a.m. at Cary Tennis Par in Cary, North Carolina.

HOKIES
Last weekend, in a match against No. 22 Wake Forest, junior Natalie Novotna (No. 88) picked up a big win against then 31st-ranked Emma Davis on court one. This was Novotna's second ranked win of the season, after defeating Carla Touly, then ranked 32nd, of Florida State. Rita Pinto also earned a win on court five against the Demon Deacons. Pinto and Novotna have also risen in to the doubles rankings, recognized as the 78th-ranked duo in the country.
 
TIGERS
In their matchup earlier this season, Tech fell 2-5 in Clemson. The Tigers have two ranked players, Marie Leduc (No. 89) and Fernanda Navarro (No. 110). Navarro and Leduc are also recognized as the ninth-ranked doubles pair in the nation.

The winner of Wednesday's matchup will face Miami (No. 5) on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Cary Tennis Park.
