BLACKSBURG - Busy weekend for Virginia Tech athletics as the Hokies host eight home events. Women's tennis and lacrosse each host the nation's top-ranked in their respective sports. Softball squares off against rival Virginia in a 529 Commonwealth Clash battle while Tech is set to also hold its annual football spring game on Saturday.

The Virginia Tech women's tennis team (8-13, 2-10 ACC) is set to host their last two regular season matches this weekend, leading off with No. 22 Wake Forest (17-7, 7-5 ACC) on Friday and No.1 North Carolina (24-1, 12-0 ACC) on Sunday. While hosting two ranked opponents this weekend before the ACC Women's Tennis Championship next weekend in Cary, N.C., the Hokies will celebrate senior day on Sunday against No. 1 North Carolina.

Following their seventh perfect game in program history against No.17 James Madison during
Wednesday's doubleheader split, the No. 20 Virginia Tech softball team (34-6, 13-2 ACC) returns to conference action in a Commonwealth Clash weekend series against Virginia (16-22, 5-10 ACC). The Hokies look to extend their lead in the ACC after winning their last five conference games and conference weekend series.

The Virginia Tech lacrosse team (8-7, 1-4 ACC) will celebrate senior day as they host No. 1 Boston College (14-0, 5-0 ACC) on Saturday at Thompson Field after returning home from a hard-fought road trip against No. 3 Syracuse and No. 4 Notre Dame. The Hokies fell by a combined three goals during this stretch but look to dig deep as they face their toughest opponent yet in No. 1 Boston College, their fourth consecutive conference opponent ranked inside the top four.

Following their 26th consecutive season of bowling in 2018, the Virginia Tech football team is aiming to expand upon the country's longest active bowl streak in 2019. The Hokies will make their season debut during Saturday's Spring Game at 4 p.m. from Lane Stadium. The controlled offensive vs. defensive scrimmage will feature the defense dressed in maroon as the visiting team, and the offense dressed in white as the home team.

The Virginia Tech track & field teams will split up for the third time this season as they will head to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Tennessee Relays and San Diego, California for the Triton Invitational.
The throwers will be the only group heading to the Triton Invitational, while the sprints/hurdles, distance, pole vault and jumps/multi-events groups will head to the Tennessee Relays.

The Virginia Tech men's golf team is set to compete in the two-day Stitch Intercollegiate, hosted by NC State. The 15-team field will play the par 72, 6,973-yard MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary, N.C. on Friday and Saturday. The Stitch Intercollegiate will conclude the Hokies' regular season before returning back to action in North Carolina for next week's ACC Men's Golf Championship.

The Virginia Tech men's tennis team (15-7, 5-5 ACC) is set to travel and compete against Louisville (15-10, 3-7 ACC) on Friday and No. 5 Virginia (17-3, 8-2 ACC) on Sunday to conclude the Hokies last two matches of the regular season. The Hokies look to finish the season strong before gearing up for next week's ACC Men's Tennis Championship in Cary, N.C.
