BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's tennis team is set to wrap up the regular season on the road, traveling to Louisville on Friday before returning to the commonwealth to face in-state rival No. 5 Virginia as part of the 529 Commonwealth Clash.

THE HOKIES (15-7, 5-5 ACC)
Virginia Tech is coming off a pair of heartbreaking 4-3 losses on the road last weekend, falling to No. 24 Miami and No. 31 Florida State. Both matches were tied at 3-3 before the home teams were able to hold on in the third sets to clinch the wins. Henrik Korsgaard went 2-0 on the weekend for the Hokies, while Jason Kros picked up a decisive straight-set win over the 'Canes 36th-ranked Adria Barrera.
Kros enters the weekend ranked 71st in the ITA singles standings with a 12-8 tally at the one this spring. Korsgaard is 12-3 with an 8-3 mark at two while Carlo Donato is 11-6 and Brandon Perez is 10-5.
THE CARDINALS (15-10, 3-7 ACC)
Louisville split results last weekend, defeating Clemson 4-3 before falling to Georgia Tech 4-1. Against the Tigers, the Cardinals fell behind after the doubles point, but got the wins needed in singles as Sergio Hernandez, Fabien Salle, Federico Gomez and Clement Filho secured their matches. Salle picked up his second win of the weekend against the Yellow Jackets.
The Cardinals are unranked in singles, but Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff and Salle enter into the doubles rankings at No. 87. Hernandez leads the team on the spring with a 16-3 record while Salle is 13-6 and Gomez is 12-1.
THE CAVALIERS (17-3, 8-2 ACC)
Virginia defeated Florida State 4-1 and Miami 4-0 last weekend. Against the 'Canes the Cavaliers picked up the doubles point and tallied singles wins from Carl Soderlund, Brandon Nakashima and Aswin Lizen.
Soderlund is ranked No. 5 in the latest ITA singles standings and is joined the rankings by Nakashima at No. 75. Nakashima is also ranked in doubles with Henrik Wiersholm at No. 54. Soderlund is 16-3 on the season while Wiersholm is 12-2 and Nakashima is 11-4.
Sunday's match marks a meeting between the two schools as part of the 529 Commonwealth Clash. There is one point on the line this weekend in the head-to-head all-sports competition between the two schools. The Hokies currently lead the standings 7.5-6.5.
