The Hokies picked up a big conference and national win with a 77-72 victory over third-ranked Duke in Cassell Coliseum last Tuesday night … The Hokies led almost the entire game, but found itself tied, 70-70 with under two minutes remaining … Ty Outlaw hit a big three-pointer from the corner with 1:28 remaining and Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Kerry Blackshear Jr., made their free throws in the waning seconds to secure the win for Tech … Blackshear led all scorers with 23 points and added 10 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season … Ahmed Hill had 17 points, Alexander-Walker had 13 points and Outlaw added 11 points in the win.
Vs. Florida State
The Hokies are 22-33 all-time against Florida State … Tech has lost the last three meetings, including a 91-82 loss in Cassell Coliseum last season … Tech is 5-19 on the road against the Seminoles, and 4-16 in the Tucker Center … Tech is 2-5 against FSU under Buzz Williams.
