No. 3 Duke holds off Hokies

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech women's tennis battled against No. 3 Duke, but the Blue Devils held on to win it 5-2 on Friday afternoon at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Virginia.
 
Duke got the doubles point with wins on courts three and one, but the Nika Kozar and Nina Sorkin were tied at four with the Blue Devils on court two before the point was decided.
 
Rita Pinto knotted the match at 1-1 as she downed Hannah Zhao at the six with straight set scores of 6-4, 6-0.
 
The Blue Devils won the matches at five and three to go up 3-1 on the Hokies, but Kozar cut the advantage on court two. The Tech sophomore downed the nation's No. 22 ranked Kelly Chen in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
 
Duke followed by clinching the team win on court one.
 
Virginia Tech will be back on the court Friday, April 5 when the Hokies host
