Tech hosts final home weekend of season

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's tennis team will wrap up its home slate this weekend beginning with Boston College in a 2 p.m. match on Friday. Tech will host No. 16 Notre Dame on Sunday at noon, the match will mark Senior Day for the Hokies.

THE HOKIES (13-5, 3-3 ACC)
Virginia Tech defeated VCU 4-2 in a midweek non-conference match on the road. The Hokies secured the doubles point and picked up straight-set singles wins from Henrik Korsgaard, Alex Ribeiro and Brandon Perez to claim the team victory.
 
Jason Kros enters this weekend ranked No. 56 in the ITA standings. He had a big win last weekend, knocking off the nation's No. 30 and the Tech senior is 11-6 this spring with 10 wins at the one. Carlo Donato has a 10-3 tally while Korsgaard is 9-3.
 
THE EAGLES (5-10, 0-7 ACC)
Boston College fell 6-1 to No. 2 Wake Forest last weekend. The Eagles picked up a point though as Markus Nordby had the win on court two over Rrezart Cungu. Boston College also knocked off Sacred Heart 7-0 a week ago.
 
THE IRISH (11-10, 3-4 ACC)
Notre Dame went 1-1 last Sunday at home. The Irish lost to NC State 5-0 before picking up the 7-0 win over Toledo.
 
Alex Lebedev enters the weekend ranked No. 20 in the ITA singles standings and is joined by Richard Ciamarra at No. 58. The Irish also have a doubles team in the rankings with Ciamarra and Tristan McCormick at No. 21.
 
UP NEXT: The Hokies will take to the road for the Florida swing beginning with Miami on Friday, April 5. Tech will face Florida State on Sunday, April 7.
