RALEIGH, NC. – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team fell to No. 12 N.C. State 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Tech (7-11, 1-7 ACC) was able to win the doubles point with wins on courts three and two. Nika Kozar and Nina Sorkin picked up a 6-2 win on court two. On court three, Samantha Gillas and Elizabet Danailova claimed the 6-2 win.
In singles, OSamantha Gillas picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win over Bianca Moldovan on court four.
On court two, Nika Kozar had a hard-fough three set match. After falling in the first set 6-2, Kozar battled back to win the second 7-6(5), but the Tech sophomore fell short in the tiebreaker 10-3.
The Hokies will be back on the court Friday, March 29 for a 10 a.m. match against Duke at home.
