Tech set for 2019 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships

BLACKSBURG – Reka Gyorgy, Joelle Vereb and Ashlynn Peters will represent Virginia Tech beginning Thursday, March 21 at the 2019 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin.

COMPETING FOR THE HOKIES
Reka Gyorgy – The Tech junior makes her third appearance at NCAAs for the Hokies, beginning Thursday morning in the prelims of the 500 free. She will take to the pool on Friday for the 400 IM, an event in which she has earned All-America honors as a freshman. Gyorgy will wrap up the meet on Saturday in the 200 back.

Joelle Vereb – The sophomore is representing the Hokies at NCAAs for the second time in as many years. She earned All-America Honorable Mention honors last season as a member of the 200 and 400 medley relay teams. Vereb will begin her competition Thursday with the 200 IM before taking to the pool for the 100 fly on Friday. She will wrap up competition with the 100 free on Saturday.

Ashlynn Peters – The Tech senior will represent the Hokies in all three diving events at the NCAA Championships. After turning in top-three scores in springboard events at NCAA Zones, she looks to round out her career with a strong showing in her final NCAAs.
