Hokies host High Point Tuesday, head to Marshall Wednesday

BLACKSBURG – Coming off back-to-back ACC road trips, the Virginia Tech baseball team will return home for back-to-back ACC home weekends, starting with hosting No. 9 North Carolina this upcoming weekend.

However, before facing the Tar Heels, Tech will play a pair of midweek games – one at English Field at Union Park Tuesday versus High Point and the other against Marshall, at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, W.Va. – with both starting at 4 p.m.

Tech enters the midweek games with a 13-6 overall record and evened its conference record at 3-3 with a road ACC series win at Pittsburgh last weekend, its first since 2014. Last week the Hokies had a five-game week and went 4-1 and have won 5-of-7.

  • The Panthers last won a game in the series on March 12, 2003, a 7-5 decision in Blacksburg.
  • The two teams did play an exhibition game in the fall – on October 5 – with High Point taking the contest 17-7.
