SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team fell to #32 Syracuse 6-1 on Friday at the Drumlins Country Club.
Tech (7-8, 1-4 ACC) fell behind after Syracuse (10-5, 3-3 ACC) picked up the doubles point with wins on all three courts.
On court one, Natalie Novotna battled and was able to win the first set 7-5 before falling 4-6, 10-6.
Samantha Gillas picked up Tech's lone singles victory of the day, defeating Syracuse's Dina Hegab7-5, 6-2 on court two.
On court two, Nika Kozar went to a super tiebreaker against Sofya Golubovskaya. After winning the opening set 6-4, Kozar fell to Golubovskaya 7-6(8), 10-9.
The Hokies will be back on the court Sunday, March 17 for an 11 a.m. match at Boston College.
