NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Friday afternoon that Virginia Tech director of track and field and cross country Dave Cianelli won the 2019 Southeast Region Men's Coach of the Year during the indoor.

This year, Cianelli led the men's team to its fifth ACC indoor title, as Tech and Florida State both scored 117 points to share the title. That title marked the 14th overall for Virginia Tech track and field and cross country programs since the school joined the ACC for the 2004-05 season.
On Monday, the USTFCCCA put out its rankings heading into NCAAs, and the Hokie women came in No. 19 in the nation. The women own 10 times and marks and the men own eight times and marks that rank in the top 50 across the nation.
