BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's swimmers will be in Greensboro, North Carolina this week for the 2019 ACC Men's Swimming Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

THE HOKIES
Virginia Tech enters ranked 21st in the CSCAA TYR Top-25 standings and will be represented by a strong group at the ACC men's championship with individual school record holders Ian Ho (50 free) and Lane Stone (500 free, 1000 free & 1650 free) as well as relay 200 free relay record holders David Herbert, Thomas Hallock and Ho.
Among the Hokie squad are several top-five time holders across 16 events. Norbert Szabo is in the top-five times of the 200 free, 100 fly, 200 fly and 200 IM and was the 2018 ACC silver medalist in the 200 IM event.
In addition, the Hokies have already recorded 16 NCAA provisional times this season. Hallock and Ho have reached the mark in the 50 free while Jake Lamparella has a B cut in the 100 free and 100 back. Stone holds B times in the 200 free, 500 free, 1650 free and 200 back. Newcomer Antani Ivanov joined the team in January and has already hit B cuts in the 500 free and 200 fly.
Sam Tornqvist is having a great sophomore campaign, having hit the B cut times in 100 back, 200 back, 200 IM and 400 IM. Szabo has hit the mark in the 200 IM while freshman Blake Manoff has the time in the 200 fly.
Virginia Tech enters this week sixth in the team standings after divers Ben Schiesl and Noah Zawadzki competed last week. Schiesl claimed third in the 1-meter while Zawadzki reached the finals on platform, placing fifth overall. Both divers scored in all three events.
THE FIELD
NC State enters championship season ranked third in the CSCAA TYR Top-25 poll while Virginia is 14th and Georgia Tech are 19th. Just behind the Hokies are Florida State at 22nd and Notre Dame in 23rd.
