Tech's game against the Bulls will be streamed, marking the Hokies' first time this season of being broadcast.
The Pete D'Amour era is off to a hot start, as the Hokies are tied for the second-fastest start in school history with nine wins. They are one win away from tying the school record, set in 2006, and are two away of setting a school record.
Last weekend, Tech won its second nonconference tournament and did it in the same city as the first, Charleston, South Carolina. The Hokies went to Charleston Southern and saw pitcher Keely Rochard throw two no-hitters to become only the third player in school history to do it in back-to-back appearances.
Tech also got it done in the plate, racking up at least 10 hits in every game for a total of 56, including 15 that were extra-base hits. It also wasn't too shabby in the field, only committing one error at the Wingate by Wyndham Invitational with 171 putouts and 56 assists.
Earlier this week, Rochard and outfielder Darby Trull were awarded with weekly honors. Rochard picked up two national honors – NFCA National DI Pitcher of the Week and Fastpitch News DI Pitcher of the Week – as well as ACC Co-Pitcher of the Week for the second straight time.
Trull was tabbed College Sports Madness ACC Player of the Week, following her racking up nine hits, six RBIs and her first-ever home run at the college level at CSU Softball Field.
After ranking fourth in the country in batting average going into Week 2, the Hokies improved upon that number and find themselves with the best clip in the land at .428.
